Until about 5 years ago I tended to concentrate on wearing bright colours as it matched my outgoing personality and they can be quite striking on the eye. I felt I didn’t want to wear neutral colours as I associated it with being boring and unadventurous.
So, what happened 5 years ago I hear you ask? Quite simply, I was reading Vogue magazine and saw a picture of a young Asian lady wearing neutral colours and something clicked in me - the colours really complimented her skin tone and she looked classy and sophisticated.
I have self-studied fashion for many years now. Although I often look for inspiration from social media and magazines, I have my own views on what looks good and I love to bring them to life when designing my own clothes. Through my own designs and through off the peg purchases, I have experimented with many different colours, and combinations of colours, and ‘going neutral’ is now my ‘go to’ style.
I hope you like my picture where I’ve gone for a tan top and white trouser combo – these are 2 of my favourite colours along with camel and beige. I feel very comfortable and confident in this outfit.
